Jodie is a dedicated individual to her craft. Studying Fashion and Textile design for over four years in the historical City of Bath. Her love of the city and surroundings is impacted through her childhood and life living in between country and city, in a suburb on the outskirts of Bristol and Bath. This feeds into her research and inspirations for her work which she captures through photography, especially pieces of architecture, flowers and heritage environment, which is reflected in line, shape and texture in her work.
Her specialism in embroidery covers a diverse range of hand and machine techniques, including ZSK digital embroidery with the majority of Jodie's work centred around the applique technique. With a key interest in fabric sourcing, Jodie experiments with a variety of different weighted fabrics and plastics in her designs to create visually interesting pieces and diversity in her collections.
Jodie has digital design skills including Photoshop and Illustrator. She has worked on a Live Industry Textile project in collaboration with Urban Outfitters and has shown her work in University exhibitions. Jodie is now seeking to develop and use her creative and technical skills in a working creative environment.
